For Garden Centres and Nurseries
The 'Let's Curb Pesticides' initiative recognizes garden centres and nurseries as important partners in our efforts to reduce pesticide use and make our community a healthier place.
We would like to help you to provide accurate and up to date lawn care information to your customers. We can also assist in the promotion of many products you likely have in your store: slow-release or organic fertilizers, grass seed, top dressing, compost, weed pullers, spreaders, rakes, and pesticide alternatives like nematodes or corn gluten meal.
The following assistance is available free of charge:
- Staffed information booths. Our 'Let's Curb Pesticides' staff have been trained by lawn care experts. We can set up an in-store display booth to promote your pesticide-free lawn care products. Our staff are always friendly and respectful in their approach to educating about pesticide reduction options.
- Brochure stands. Our brochures contain detailed information about good lawn care practices and ways to reduce or eliminate pesticides. These can be placed in product aisles, at check-outs, or at service counters.
- Pocket cards for your staff. We can give your staff pocket-sized reference cards that will help with responding to customers' questions. The cards include tips for pesticide-free lawn care, examples of products to buy, solutions to common lawn problems, and information about the pesticides by-law.
- Shopping Lists. These tear-off pads of paper are designed to hang in your product aisles and direct customers to pesticide-free lawn care products. They are formatted as a shopping list, but also provide information on how these products are helpful.
